This year for International Women’s Day the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) is amplifying the work of the amazing feminist sister organizations and allies. We also encourage all our WLMP members to take this day to connect with your mentors and mentees and take the time to uplift them through community, and amplify your mentor’s and your mentee’s within your legal community.
Balancing your desire to make a difference and your busy law school life can be hard. That’s why the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) offers Volunteer From Home student committee opportunities.
The Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) and Women in Canadian Criminal Defence (WiCCD) virtual speed mentoring event scheduled for this Fall is on hold for now.
Meet WLMP Member and Legal Mentor — Prudence Tsui. Prudence was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016 and specializes in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law. She is currently working as an in-house counsel. Prudence is thrilled to share that she recently launched Equilawbrium (www.equilawbrium.ca) – an online platform for legal professionals to find their equilibrium as working parents with young kids.

It’s January and start of a new year. But what a start it’s been. With the ongoing Covid-19 variants and shifts in what’s happening, it can get overwhelming. With everything that is going on it’s good to remember things that are okay to do and ask for. Women’s Legal Mentorship Program has a few reminders about things that are okay.
Are you a self-starter looking for volunteer executive student leadership experience? Interested in helping people, who self-identify as women, from across Canada connect through mentorship and professional development?
Then consider applying for one of our two newly created national positions.
Reviewing our WLMP National programming and working with the reality of law students spread across Canada and engaging in virtual law schools, lawyers working virtually and Zooming business of virtual conference events, we decided to take on the challenges of 2020 on a national level.
The aim of the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) Amplify Allies Project is to focus on and amplify mentorship programs and programs we believe furthers the WLMP’s mission of dismantling the systemic barriers facing all self-identified women in the law. Every Wednesday, the WLMP’s social media channels will focus on promoting and amplifying the social media messages of allied mentoring programs and organizations.
