Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (“WLMP”) respects your privacy. This “Privacy Policy” summarizes what personal information we collect, and how we use and disclose this information.
By using our website and online membership community (the “Site” or “website”), you signify your consent to the terms of our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this Site or submit any personal information to us.
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will reflect any such modifications to this Privacy Policy on our Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, as revised.
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit the online mentoring/membership community on the Site, fill out a membership form, application for mentoring form, and/or a form related to a WLMP University Chapter mentoring program or make a purchase on the Site from www.wlmp-pmdf.ca.
How WLMP Collects Information
When you visit our Site, we may collect information that is automatically sent to us by your web browser. This information may include your domain name, and your numerical IP address. We may also collect other information, such as the type of browser you use, which pages you view and the files you request.
The WLMP uses this information to better understand how visitors use our Site, and to improve our Site to better meet your needs. Aggregated Statistics
The WLMP may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, the Site may reveal how many downloads a particular video received. However, the WLMP does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described in this Privacy Policy.
Gathering of Personal Identifying information
Certain visitors to the wlmp-pmdf.ca website choose to interact with the WLMP, the WLMP University Chapter and the Site in ways that require the WLMP to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that WLMP, WLMP University Chapter and the Site gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who join as members and use those features to provide a username and email address. In each case, the Site collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with the WLMP, WLMP University Chapter and/or the Site. The WLMP does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors to the Site can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain WLMP, WLMP University Chapter and/or website-related activities.

WLMP Mentorship Matching Information
WLMP, its WLMP University Chapters and the Site collects information provided by you. Whether you are a WLMP member, student participant, peer mentee, peer mentor, student-lawyer mentee, legal mentor, articling student, lawyer, or WLMP alumni through our mentorship application forms and when required any curriculum vitae/resumes you provide. The WLMP and the WLMP University Chapters considers all information contained in these documents to be personal information.
All information collected through the Site and any WLMP or a WLMP University Chapter mentorship application form and/or curriculum vitae/resume is used strictly for the purpose of mentorship matching and communicating with and matching the WLMP member, WLMP student participant or legal mentor with a WLMP mentor and/or mentee.
WLMP and a WLMP University Chapter also collects information from its WLMP University Chapter Chairs/Co-Chairs and volunteers through the course of communications (via email, verbally or otherwise). This information may or may not be personal information. It is to be used only for WLMP and WLMP University Chapter administration purposes.
The WLMP and its WLMP University Chapter will not disclose personal information of any WLMP member, participant, student mentee, peer mentor, legal mentor or WLMP alumni to a third-party without the prior permission and consent.
WLMP Membership Information
WLMP mentoring membership community is a private online community. The WLMP collects the information you provide when you fill out and submit a membership form and at the time of ordering or purchasing your membership.
All information collected through any WLMP membership application form is used strictly for the purposes of providing member services and communicating with you, the WLMP member.
The WLMP will not disclose personal information of any WLMP member to a third-party without the prior permission and consent.
Use of Membership or Purchasing Order Information
We use any “Order Information” when you join the WLMP as a member and/or purchase any WLMP services or products that we collect generally to complete your membership or fulfill any service/product orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our visitors or members browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our services, programming, promotional and communications campaigns).

How the WLMP Uses and Discloses Personal Information

Some or all of the personal information we collect may be stored or processed in jurisdictions outside of Canada, including the United States and/or the European Union. As a result, this information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in those jurisdictions according to laws in those jurisdictions.
WLMP reserves the right to transfer Personal Information in the event that we merge with or are acquired by a third party. We also may disclose your Personal Information for any other purpose permitted by law or to which you consent.
How We Protect Personal Information
The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We protect your Personal Information by maintaining physical, organizational and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of such Personal Information. Personal Information may only be accessed by persons within our organization and only designated persons within the WLMP University Chapters who require such access to provide you with the services indicated above. Personal Information we collect is maintained with the source of the information in Canada and hosted by Neglia Design, located in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
We retain Personal Information that we collect only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or to meet legal requirements. We destroy Personal Information when it is no longer needed.
Access and Rectification
You have a right to access to your Personal Information and to request a correction to it if you believe it is inaccurate. If you have submitted Personal Information and would like to have access to it, or if you would like to have it corrected, please contact us using the contact information provided below.
Changes
