We understand it can be hard to balance your desire to make a difference and your busy law school life. That’s why the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) offers Volunteer From Home student committee opportunities.
- Average Volunteer Time Commitment: 2 – 3 hours a week. This is a low to medium time commitment.
- No WLMP volunteer work is done during the exam periods.
- You can volunteer from home! All our WLMP Events Team meetings happen in a virtual environment. Allowing each WLMP Events Committee member the chance to make a difference and volunteer from home.
- All WLMP national student committees work on a collaborative team based model. Each volunteer committee works on specific area and provides as many opportunities as possible for its team members to take on a lead role on a project.
- Deadline for Applications: October 20th (11:59 PM EST)
To volunteer with the WLMP National Student Program, you should:
- Be interested in creating a positive braver space for self-identifying Canadian women in law through integrative mentorship, equity and leadership.
- Currently be enrolled in a program at a law school in Canada;
- Registered as a WLMP law student member (membership is free);
- Open to working with NSP program leaders and volunteers from different law schools and backgrounds;
- Comfortable with connecting in a virtual meeting environment; and,
- Enjoy working with a team spread out across Canada focused on serving the WLMP Mentoring Community and creating change within the legal profession.

A WLMP Events Committee might be for you if you have….
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- The ability to work within a collaborative team based virtual environment.
- Creative problem solving style.
- A love of facilitating and hosting both virtual and hybrid events.
WLMP Mentoring Events Committee
- Work with the WLMP Events Leads to coordinate and deliver WLMP Virtual Speed Mentoring Events.
- Ability to identify and plan virtual mentoring events across Canada that meet the needs of both WLMP Student Members and Lawyer Members.
WLMP Hybrid Hops & Networking Events Committee
- Work with the WLMP Events Lead and WLMP Outreach Leaders to develop, coordinate and deliver WLMP Hybrid Hops or Hybrid Networking Events.
- These are events that offer a regional in person social event, firm or organization visit with a virtual mentoring event or virtual social networking .
- Ability to identify and plan Hybrid Hops across Canada that meet the needs of both WLMP Student Members and Lawyer Members.
WLMP Professional Development Events
- Work with the WLMP Events Lead to develop, coordinate and deliver WLMP professional development events such as panel discussions and webinars.
- Ability to identify and plan virtual mentoring events across Canada that meet the needs of both WLMP Student Members and Lawyer Members.
