September 30th will be the first ever National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The WLMP and its volunteers will not be working on September 30th.
We feel that the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation should give space to reflecting on Canada’s colonial past and its continued legacy of colonial trauma.
The Canadian Government designated September 30th the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour First Nations, Inuit and Métis survivors, their families and communities, and to ensure the public commemoration of their history and the legacy of residential schools.
We urge all Canadians to take time to learn more about the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its Call To Action. You can always find a link to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission Reports at the top of our Linktree.
