The Women’s Legal Mentorship Program (WLMP) community includes over 1,600 WLMP Alumni. Creating a dynamic intercultural and intergenerational alumni network. They are self-identifying women, who support the intersectional feminist mentorship and equity principles.  

Our list of WLMP Alumni grows every year. In addition to WLMP Alumni meet-ups within the WLMP’s virtual community, we plan to hold in-person WLMP events across Canada.

However, Covid-19 has complicated our ability to create in-person meet-ups. We will announce both on the WLMP website and in The Spark, where and when we will start holding WLMP Alumni in-person meet-ups.

Who are the WLMP Alumni Network

The WLMP alumni are an inclusive intergenerational and diverse network of self-identified women, non-binary and gender nonconforming (which includes 2SLGBTQI+ and BIPOC self-identified women) in the law, who have participated in the WLMP whether as Student Members or Legal Mentors.

The WLMP Alumni Network is made of all persons who have joined the WLMP and are:

• self-identifying women, non-binary and gender nonconforming (which includes 2SLGBTQI+ and BIPOC self-identified women) in law, who participated in a WLMP’s student program, either online or through a licensed WLMP university chapter as a law student or legal mentor.

• in good standing with the WLMP Program at the time of their participation. 

• support the WLMP’s core equity and intersectional feminist principles. 

• are lawyers in good standing within the legal community and were not asked to leave the WLMP Mentoring Community, the WLMP National Student Program or a WLMP University Program either as a legal mentor or as a student.
